The Hooplr Story

Hooplr is the bike parking solution from Cyclehoop, created to make secure parking easier for everyday riders.

Cyclehoop was founded in 2008 and has spent more than a decade working with local councils and organisations across the UK and beyond. During that time, the team has designed, installed and managed a wide range of cycle parking, including Bikehangars, Cycle Hubs and other everyday infrastructure.

Through this work, one thing became clear. Good bike parking isn’t just about design. It also needs to be well looked after, easy to use and simple to access. Hooplr was created to bring that experience directly to the cycling community.

Why Hooplr Exists

Many people want to cycle more, but practical concerns can get in the way. Worries about theft, lack of storage space at home, or uncertainty about where it’s safe to lock up can all make cycling feel harder than it needs to be.

Hooplr exists to help remove those barriers. By offering access to secure, well-managed bike parking in the places people actually need it, Hooplr supports everyday cycling in a calm, practical way.

For many riders, owning and using their own bike feels more comfortable and familiar than relying on shared bikes. Having a place to park your own bike means you can ride when you want, use a bike that fits you properly and build cycling into your routine without depending on availability.

It’s not about telling people how they should travel. It’s about giving them another option that makes cycling feel possible.

The Team Behind Hooplr

Hooplr is supported by the wider Cyclehoop team, which includes designers, engineers, operations specialists, maintenance teams and customer support staff.

Many of the people behind Hooplr ride bikes themselves, whether that’s for commuting, leisure or simply getting around. That firsthand experience shapes how the service is run, from how parking is maintained to how support is handled.

Passionate about designing and developing products that make cycling easier, safer and more convenient for all.

Anthony developed the Cyclehoop as an entry to a design competition when his bike was stolen whilst working as an architect in London in 2008.

His design skills and love of cycling have led to the growth of the company and our award-winning range of cycle parking and infrastructure products.

Having previously worked in architecture and social housing Charmian has a background in the built environment and understands the needs of specifiers and the value of cycling.

Helping local authorities establish a Bikehangar scheme.

With six years experience of helping Local Authorities, start, build, and expand their Bikehangar program, Gav is the go-to for anyone interested in a secure residential cycle parking scheme. He will guide you from consultation to installation of the first units on street, ensuring your scheme is tailored to the area and to your requirements.
